One of my goals has been to use of technology to increase community engagement and transparency in government. As a council member, I created a new enhanced city website and built a social media presence to keep residents informed. With the help of the Mayor and Council, we were able to bring a digital media assistant on board to help get important information out to our community faster. We also joined the NIXLE text alert system where residents can sign up to receive emergency information via text messaging straight to your cell phone. My goals for 2022 include expanding our communications team, live streaming of city meetings and building out additional areas of the city website. I will continue to improve communication through new technologies, and I will work to improve efficiency with re-envisioned structure.
